Turns out the cruise ship towed the skiff back to the closest marina. Zuckerberg and his wife were NOT on the 400 foot yacht and a spokesperson said they were "on another channel" on their radio and didn't get the emergency call until they reviewed the channel much later at which point they'd already determined the skiff had been rescued
To be fair I've never had a yacht but I had a boat or years and I had a radio and like everyone I know who had a radio on their boat(I almost never brought it with me because I didn't fish offshore just in lakes) when you have your radio you monitor channel 16 it's the emergency channel everyone uses.
If you google it after making your mayday call when you've connected to someone, the Coast guard will normally advise you what channel to switch to for further communications. So people in Alaska are VERY skeptical of the claim by Zuckerbergs' yacht staff saying there's absolutely no reason for them to have been on another channel
