Bottom line is Trump started a stupid war of choice which posed serious and known risks to the world economy which he blithely ignored because he thought he could roll Iran like he rolled Venezuela.
Every single Pentagon war game of the last 3 decades has identified the risks posed by a conflict with Iran to Gulf states and Gulf traffic, which is why no one until Trump was stupid enough to start a war against Iran without any exit strategy or clearly delineated and attainable goals.
