Someone in New Britain with the same name and date of birth was apparently being circulated online and was being accused of being the undocumented driver. Police explicitly said that person is not the woman charged in this case. The actual defendant is Melissa Esperanza Ramirez of Stamford, also identified in court documents as Melissa Esperanza Ramirez-Romero.
That's important because some social-media posts appear to have taken information about a different Melissa Ramirez and attached it to this case."
