Any time a runner is on 1st with fewer than 2 outs, and the batter hits the ball on the ground to an infielder, opening the possibility of a double play. Just watch the runner leaving 1st. You'll see him veer to the left to get out of the way of the throw from 2nd (2nd baseman or SS) to 1st. I can't say if Machado did that, or if he intentionally got in the way of the throw (which he likely couldn't see due to his back being turned away from Freeman). He's a talented player AND a jerk, so either is possible.
