We can get around the constitutionality problem by just being creative a little in any number of ways.

The other thing that absolutely positively must change, almost in tandem, is the unconscionably long "lame duck" period after an election. Don't wait for months to make the results official and once they are made official, the outgoing regime must leave the next day. We don't need to travel by horse-drawn carriages anymore. We can always recalibrate according to this super=duper technology that just came out recently, called the jet engine flights. Wonder of wonders, it allows you to go coast-to-coast in mere hours.

The only thing that kinda stopped that time period between election results and the new admin taking office from turning into a complete sh*tshow was tradition, and now that all traditions have been trashed by Trump and MAGA, that has become a very dangerous period as we saw about 4 years ago.
