latest hurricane track. The storm is absolutely set to hit the most highly populated areas of the west coast with a cat 3 or 4.

It will either hit Tampa directly or hit just a little north or a little south. In any case it is predicted to bring unsurvivable storm surge to heavily populated areas. Mass evacuation is underway.

The counties just north and south of Tampa are heavily red but Tampa that will suffer the biggest impact to the most people is blue.

The only lightly populated area on any of Florida's east or west coast is the small area around the big bend where Helene hit.
