U.S. food prices in January 2026 were about 2.9% higher than January 2025.
Grocery-store food (“food at home”) was about 2.1% higher year over year.
Fruits and vegetables were up about 0.8% year over year.
There isn’t a widely published national CPI series specifically for retail broccoli prices month-by-month, but the available produce and broccoli farm-price data suggest broccoli prices today are roughly flat to modestly higher versus January 2025 depending on region and season — not massively higher.
