I've told this story before but Lucy has a cousin who wanted to move to Texas. He and his wife are Filipino and she won 500K on a lottery scratcher so they decided to go looking for a place in Texas with the plan to move in a year or two.
The broker they picked was a friend of a friend, also Filipino and she warned them some of the locations they'd asked about were not "friendly."
They pulled up to one house and while they were inside looking at the house there were people outside shouting racial slurs at them.
He said we basically got in the car and told the broker sorry but we changed our minds about Texas.
I know it's not ALL like that but there a bunch of very red places that are very much like that.
