Not even when Russia invaded Ukraine has the price of diesel been this high.
The CEO of Chevron said people are now worrying about the wrong thing price is not the concern, availability is. We're going to start seeing shortages soon, some stations have already run out of gas and had to shut for hours. The last tanker from Hormuz landed in Long Beach a few days ago, there are no more on the way. We don't refine enough of our own or get enough from Venezuela to keep up.
Arilines are already canceling flights.
CEO of Chevron, who is profiting like crazy off this, is warning this is the biggest fuel crisis since the 1970's and because the demand is so much higher now it's could be much worse.
Some of us are old enough to remember our parents lining up for gas. They had even and odd days based on the last digit of your license plate. They had rations, you couldn't get more than 10 gallons at one point IIRC. People were stealing gas from their neighbors by ciphoning it, that's why everyone has locking gas caps now that didn't used to be a thing.
So I guess when Trump said Make America Great Again he meant bring us back to the 1970's gas crisis
