that the people who built towards the civil rights movement put the work in knowing that they will not be the generation who sees the fruits of that work, but they did it for the future generations, meaning, you place stone after stone to build a structure that you will likely not live in.

Public healthcare, free education, a more just distrubution of wealth, proportional representation, a dynamic political system that allows for course correction without having to wait for another four years, a more rational and modern constitution, and every other pie in the sky you can think of and decide is not worth fighting for because it will never happen, is a project worth laying down the initial foundations for right now so that one day, and I hate to channel MLK Jr here, our children's children can reap the benefits of work we do right now. So we need to stop, not necessarily the tinkering at the edges, but being saatisfied with the tinkered edges and minor, incremental improvements.

Be rational. Demand the impossible.
