Why lawsuits are expected

There are several obvious legal angles challengers could use:

1) Election disruption / voter rights
Suspending an election after voting has begun (or ballots sent) raises:
Due process concerns
Voter disenfranchisement arguments
2) State law issues
Louisiana election law has strict timelines for:
candidate qualification
ballot preparation
Plaintiffs could argue the executive branch doesn’t have unilateral authority to halt elections already underway.
