One of the governors already called out Musk for posting lies about them shutting down airspace for stuff like that. Buttigieg shut him down too.
Just a reminder, a 2021 report by the IG of the Housing department said the Trump admin unnecessarily denied billions of dollars in aid in the 2017 Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. they not only delayed the money, they delayed the actual help, in some cases by weeks.
The report cited a litany of things including cuts Trump had made to federal agencies that led to them having to fill gaps with private companies. Who can forget Ryan Zinke's neighbor getting a massive contract for electrical service restoration?
They also said that Trump personally delayed aid during it because he was mad at officials there who publicly called out the delays, remember the famous fights with that woman with the glasses who Trump kept calling names instead of providing help?
IN particular the Trump admin required an interagency review by the Office of Management and Budget that caused huge delays. The claim was it was done to avoid financial waste but the report concluded it actually significantly INCREASED the cost because the longer you delay, the more it costs. Trump at one point blamed Obama for the delay saying his system was to blame, but the report found the OMB review was something put in place under the Trump administration and in fact one of the key people involved in that was a Trump appointee who had no experience at all.
