We all know what was coming next...."Mr. Trump on Thursday afternoon said he didn’t yet know whether he would extend a deadline he gave to Iran to fully open the strait by Friday or the United States would “obliterate” power stations there.

But minutes after the stock markets slid to a close, Mr. Trump announced a 10-day extension to the deadline. In a post on Truth Social, he said the pause was “per Iranian Government request.”

Iran: 'Huh? We never made that request."
