haunted philosophers about the nature of reality, which Descartes (IIRC) resolved with his "I think, therefore I am". Ok know the terminology was different at the time but I wonder how fundemantally different this concept is.

As always... I'm a firm believer in extraordinary claims requiring extraordinary evidence. Imagining that it could be so is the weakest evidence I can think of.

To define whether we're in a simulation or not, don't you have to first identify what reality is?
