The best we can do is wait till November, hope that both the House and the Senate flip, the Democratic leadership finds a backbone, and there are enough people in both chambers to indict and convict the president, there is enough backbone in law enforcement to physically remove Trump from office, and JD Vance can finally take over ... and govern as a more moderate leader in 2027.
Our inability to force the government to be responsive to the shifts in public views and change direction is not only seriously undemocratic, but it is also one of our biggest practical problems in politics, IMO.
