Terrible, terrible news. KCBS AM740 in the Bay Area was the #1 button on my car radio starting when I got my first car in 1974, until I moved back to L.A. in 1976. KNX AM1070 in Los Angeles has been the #1 button ever since. I have always valued the top-of-the-hour CBS Radio Network news broadcasts, and I complained loudly when KNX started carrying only the first 3 minutes of them instead of the full 5 minutes. They did carry live reports from CBS Radio when there were very big, breaking national or international news stories. I have listened to the strong KNX signal at night when traveling, in Ensenada, and even while camping up in Devil's Canyon in Idaho and visiting Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Now we're going to get none of that valuable national coverage. This is very sad.
