BREAKING: Trump’s Canadian bridge scandal EXPLODES as it’s revealed that he attacked the project right after meeting with a billionaire who owns a competing bridge.
Donald Trump didn’t wake up yesterday morning furious at Canada over the newly built Gordie Howe bridge. It turns out that he was prompted.
According to a bombshell report, Trump’s sudden threat to block the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge came just hours after a private, behind-the-scenes meeting between Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and a Detroit billionaire whose family stands to lose hundreds of millions when the new bridge opens.
That billionaire? The owner of the Ambassador Bridge — currently the most profitable U.S.–Canada border crossing, and a private monopoly the Moroun family has fiercely protected for decades.
The timeline is particularly damning.
On Monday, Matthew Moroun met privately with Lutnick in Washington. Officials say Lutnick then spoke directly with Trump. Not long after that call, Trump erupted on Truth Social, threatening to block the Canadian-funded Gordie Howe Bridge unless Canada met his “long list of grievances.”
My, what a coincidence! One has to wonder how much Matthew Moroun has promised to “donate” to any of Trump’s transparent money laundering projects, like his meme coin or the ballroom building fund, to get this kind of instant action from the administration.
The Gordie Howe bridge — approved back in 2013 and fully paid for by Canada — is designed to relieve congestion, improve trade, and break the monopoly of the privately owned Ambassador Bridge. Once it opens, it will compete for more than $300 million a day in cross-border trade.
And that’s exactly what the Moroun family has spent decades trying to prevent.
They’ve sued. They’ve lobbied. They’ve taken legal challenges all the way to Canada’s Supreme Court. And now, conveniently, Trump is threatening to torpedo the project — using nationalist outrage as cover.
Trump claims this is about “American interests.” But the bridge costs U.S. taxpayers nothing. It will be jointly operated by Canada and Michigan. And it strengthens trade with one of America’s closest allies.
So why the tantrum? Because Trump doesn’t govern — he intervenes on behalf of powerful friends.
White House officials are now parroting talking points about “Canadian control” and “American-made materials,” but the truth is simpler: Trump is once again using the presidency as a weapon for billionaires who whisper in the right ears.
This isn’t foreign policy. It’s corruption dressed up as patriotism.
From tariffs to trade wars to now bridge wars, Trump keeps proving the same thing: if you’re rich enough and loud enough, he’ll happily torch international relations to protect your bottom line.
And Canada? It’s just the latest collateral damage. Please like and share this latest example of Trump’s MASSIVE corruption!
