From a nation's founding credo that states "we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,"

to a welcoming harbinger that proclaims "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door,"

and finally capped off in the 1960s with MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech calling for brotherhood, to real Americans who understood what this country was all about, all those ideals rang true. The US was the first country on the planet to recognize that all people mattered. Our biggest holiday of the year, Thanksgiving, celebrates two cultures coming together at a family feast. It's in our bones, which is why Rodney King's "Can't we all just get along?" rang so profoundly.

I posit that real Americans have no problem recognizing what a POS our leader is.
