He has often said that he should get a third term since:
1) the Russia investigation interfered with his 1st term
2) the time he has spent proving (?) the election was stolen should be time given back to him.
The nationalize the election gambit is being sound tested right now. He needs to hear the arguments against to see how he can make this thing work.
For trump the constitution is a guideline not a law. With him being the unitary executive, he will do what he wants because he is the prez. He probably feels it's not his fault none of the other presidents fully exercised their authority.
