Your "I know Biden drained it before the 22 midterms" is ignored.

Your "Last year I saw it was around 50% capacity" is a bit dated (as shown above)

Your "Helene being the sort of situation the SPR was designed for, well the SPR came to mind" is at best disingenuous.

Helene primarily impacted Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

It should not impact the SPR since SPR is primarily an emergency stockpile of crude oil (not a stockpile of refined petroleum such as gasoline, diesel
and kerosene) and crude oil imports to Texas and Louisiana (where the 4 SPR storage sites are) do not seem to be significantly affected by Helene.

But your "Anyway, oil prices are sub 70$ and if the SPR needs to be refilled... now is the time to get it done" might merit consideration...
