a slew of responses shouting at him or mocking him, that does not look to me like no one is interested in his posts. It looks like there is clear interest in what he has to say, even if it's negatively charged attention.
Also it's very hard to make the claim that he's off topic when (a) he posts things that are very much on topic since those are the kind of things we talk about all day here, so the issue is not so much the topic but the pov he presents; and (b) this place is specifically designated as "open" forum, so it's not clear what off topic really means.
Either disengage and act like he's not even here, or engage but don't complain about the fact that he posts here.
A village idiot, after all, has as much right to live in the village even if he's the butt end of the jokes an no one wants to have anything to do with him.
