That was his first instinct. He has followed that up with "doing the democrat thing" and throwing money at perceived problems.

As for republicans not throwing down the red carpet for Zelensky, uhh he made a campaign stop for Harris in Pennsylvania on the taxpayers dime. Trump not meeting with him? Uhh Harris snubbed a world leader whose country also suffered an unprovoked attack (but that's okay, he's Jewish and stuff).
