why Harris keeps bringing up medicare

Watched a video about it I now get it, I wish she'd had the time at the debate to spell it out.

Ozempic and other weight loss drugs cost in the area of 1200 a month. Obesity is a huge problem, so LOTS of people go on them and those covered by medicare are becoming a massive burden. It costs Novo Nordisk something like 6 bucks to make a monthly supply.

Harris wants to use the 2022 rule the Dems pushed through Congress that allows Medicare to negotiate drug prices directly with the company. in the UK they pay 50 bucks a month for Ozempic. But in the US the Republicans have been lobbying against that and Novo Nordisk has been lobbying, and paying, Trump because they thought he was going to win. They wanted Trump to then exempt them from the medicare rule so they can continue to charge sky high prices.

The concern is that will BK the Medicare system.

And that's precisely what Trump and the GOP wants because they don't want Medicare, it's literally in Project 2025 to shut down medicare
