I don't know about the actual Nook device

But I have tried the Android version of Nook. It absolutely blows compared to the Android version of Kindle to the point that it's unusable. It's also buggy. A simple bug like, once you underline a text, you can't undo it. You are stuck with the underlines. It took them about 7 years to fix it.

I've heard good things about Kobo.
