Perfectly fine looking American white girls converting to Islam. Is that a reflection of reality, or is TikTok manipulating the feeds to amplify and exaggerate the voices of three white girls who happen to be dabbling with Islam for 20 minutes? If so, why?
The other one is Americans raving about all things Chinese in China: great infrastructure, friendly people, affordable housing, etc. They are American expats. I've known Americans who have lived in China. While they loved Chinese culture and people, shoddy infrastructure, unsanitary conditions, and rude strangers marred their experiences. That was 20-10 years ago. Reddit used to be full of horror stories about China. Did China make a drastic turn around in the past 10 years?
The skeptic in me has so many questions. The pro-China content is understandable, but pretty young white girls turning to Islam? Wut?
Why did I open a TikTok account? I did it after hearing a great deal about anti-Israel content on TikTok. I wanted to see for myself. This was about three months before election day. The only strong trend was young/black/Latino people doing the shi>tty MAGA YMCA dance. I didn't see much Israel/Gaza content of any kind. Later it was confirmed that TikTok altered algorithms to curry favor with Trump.
