He said Vance winning and then stepping aside for Trump is one way. First Vance won't win a fair election, second, the concept of stepping aside for someone who's already served 2 terms is not allowed. Republicans are arguing the wording says elected to not handed it by someone who was elected. The SC has ruled before the intent was clear you can't serve more than 2 terms, but of course this SC might differ

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.
