I just don't get his fixation with tariffs? Does he pull the amounts out of his fat butt, or is there some method to this madness? Making goods people in this country buy more expensive has to contribute to inflation. And our friends and allies have recourse and will react in their own interests. The long term effects could be that we have fewer friends and no allies.
I certainly don't have any clue on how all the seemingly random acts by Trump fit together to form a well crafted whole. Maybe he doesn't either?
