Before the election Helene hit and Trump attacked Biden and Harris lying about their lack of response. Many in the hard hit areas believed him and voted for Trump.
Trump gets into office and DOGE cuts or suspends funding to FEMA, Fire and Forestry departments. Flash forward and N Carolina now has huge forest fires burning being fueled by... the trees that fell over during Helene. Why weren't they cleaned up by Mr rake the forests? Because he suspended funding to the agencies that would have done it.
Biden was cleaning up the immediate damages caused by Helene until he left office but the trees were to be done once they could access them better after all the rains and flooding had stopped. Trump suspended the funding, the trees dried out, they are in a drought now so the trees became a huge fire hazard.
Meanwhile Noem is going to get rid of FEMA and just like with W Virginia, Trump isn't providing help to the people of North Carolina that helped elect him when he lied about Biden.
