RIP Jimmy Carter

I arrived here in the States on November 18th, 1980. I followed the election of my future home country from Korea. Rooted for Reagan because of his strong anti-Communist rhetoric, so I was happy to see Carter go down in defeat.

Looking back, I think the Carter presidency was vastly underrated. He was also the most decent man to occupy the WH in the postwar America at least. Human decency is in very short supply now and we need it more than ever.

I'm glad I can say I arrived here just in time to live through his presidency, albeit the tail end of it.
