Who are utterly confounded by the fact that political realities have changed in the last 70 years. Conservatives embrace white supremacist ideology and try to justify it by the fact that people like Strom Thurmond who were white supremacists in the 50’s early 60’s were Democrats then, even though they became republicans because the democrats repudiated their racism.
