Morality does not have gradations or exceptions. If it is a moral imperative all should've been commuted. All forty, like AOC argued.
Biden (or whoever is currently in charge) demonstrated it wasn't about morality but politics. The commutations were political and they knew the outrage over these three high profile crimes would be extreme. He cites morality and conscience as he says America should never again execute a criminal. That does not square with what he did.
You either execute all forty as the courts ordered or none at all. It's all or nothing based on the statement he read.
