Ohtani isn't a good example because he wasn't on base as much as he was this past season and he wasn't encouraged to steal much with the Angels as he had only 26 attempts in 2023 with the new rules and only one other season over 20. When he starts pitching next season, he probably also won't be running as much.

However, adjusting for Henderson's era, he was successful about 21% more often than the league average, which translates to a 98% success rate today. So you would get 168/172 in his best season, a more realistic number than 300. Doubt he would have attempted many more since he ran at every opportunity anyway. But 168 is ridiculously good.
