Obviously, we can't know how Chesney will turn out, but he's about the best we could have hoped for. He's hungry, energetic, media savvy, he embraces what the job is as opposed to dwelling on what it's not, he's a defensive guy at his core, he emphasizes running the ball, he brought his own staff instead of looking for mercenary coordinators, he stresses competition in practice. And he's making personal efforts with big donors. For God's sake, he has his dad running around out there with the team.
We just came off a coach who literally could not speak at media day and another who was so lazy he couldn't be bothered to take recruits out to dinner. And our men's basketball coach is a 5 foot Chihuahua throwing players off the floor for no reason.
So yeah, Chesney looks like he came out of a dream. I saw today our recruiting class for 2027 is ranked #4. The f'n team just went 3-9 and has not won a conference title in 28 years!
