I wouldn't go that far. He reportedly interviewed Chesney multiple times and went to the Chesney home.
I would say that if Jarmond had been left to his own devices, we would not have ended up with Chesney. More likely someone like Jonathan Smith, Dave Aranda, or Brent Brennan. Best case, Sean Lewis.
