I went into that holiday season without a job, a place to live, huge debt, and a really bad breakup. Most of that was the result of living with a woman who was just not a good person and me not being mature enough to get out sooner.
I watched the game at the Mirage Hotel Sports Book. It was the bright spot but going home was miserable. I was able to get my life headed back on track the next year and every year after just got better. I don't always make the best decisions, but at least I don't make horrible decisions like I did with that person.
That game led us into the 97 and 97 seasons that were at least very memorable and were also very good for me personally. Just wish UCLA could have continued to grow after, but hopefully our time is coming now.
