And like EVERYONE else in the stadium, Charbs had absolutely no idea that picking up the ball was going to lead to points. He was simply trying to be helpful by retrieving it for the refs. If anything, that play was evidence that Petey's deal with the devil was non-transferable, and stayed with the chickens. The number of bizarrely improbable, straight lucky, and horrible call influenced gifts that have benefitted the Seattle since he arrived there is pretty astonishing. There is no other team in the NFL that has that play work out the way it did. But in this case it worked out for me as well. Now the Niners just have to win six more games in a row, which given the current state of their roster is highly improbable, but as we saw last night, highly improbable things can happen.
