Revenue requirements have changed.
Building codes have changed.
Fire codes have changed.
Broadcasting infrastructure has changed.

There is also this: UCLA is the smallest UC campus. Space is a premium. There is no way anyone in the UC administration is going to sacrifice that much space to athletics.

Let's stop the myth-making and the wishful thinking.
