And have no delusions about UCLA presently having a ton of leverage in what we can only hope will be an upcoming coaching search. I think much of the tenor of the search will be dictated by who else gets fired in what needs to be a wholesale housecleaning. If Jarmond is allowed to keep his job, then I expect it will be status quo with everything else. But I think it is possible that UCLA may be viewed as a more attractive destination for a new AD who is willing to take on what is now clearly a reclamation project than the football program currently is by prospective coaches. And with that in mind, I believe that the right AD hire will not only be someone who will propose and implement bold and creative initiatives for re-engaging the fanbase and generating revenue and donor support, but he/she will also have solid connections and a good reputation within the coaching community that could make taking over an 0-12 program suddenly seem more attractive.

This is not to say that I am envisioning UCLA swinging for the fences and even making enough contact to foul one off, but we just might be able to get a base on balls or "dare to dream" hit a blooper instead of striking out on three bad pitches.
