Pepper Rodgers, Dick Vermeil, and Terry Donahue in the early years. My folks paid for the seats in the early years. I took them over later, and invited them to every game for as long as they could do it.
My first win over suc in 1975, 25-22, with Freeman McNeil's heroics making it possible. The 20-17 victory in 1980 in the "Probation Bowl" (I think I still have the T-shirt from that one).
Don Rogers in the '84 Rose Bowl, with Rick Neuheisel coming in to play through food poisoning.
The 1976 Rose Bowl, 23-10 upset over The (#1 ranked) Ohio State University.
Sciarra, Aikman, Maddox, Barnes-to-Stokes, Cade.
8 in a row, especially 1996.
Losing to suc 66-19 in 2005 (at the mausoleum; watched that one from the west endzone to the bitter end), and then beating them 13-9 in 2006 to knock them out of the NC game.
Lots of good memories. Saw 'em all in person.
Some tough ones. The Rose Bowl virtually empty toward the end of Toledo's time after a blowout of the team in the first half of the game (I stayed to the end, tho).
It hurts to go to games now, seeing the tarps covering a lot of the endzone seats on both ends, and a lot of empty aluminum benches near those tarps.
Glutton for punishment, I guess.
