The advantage of big money is accruing to a smaller set of programs. Currently, that stands at around 25: the B10 and the SEC minus their respective stragglers, like Ucla and its ilk. There already is a championship tier and an also-ran tier. Ucla has mismanaged the Bruins into an also-ran team.
Saban's career decisions are unknown to you and me. There are any number of factors that could come to play on his decision; age, health, finances, interest level, family considerations. Structural changes in CFB may have been played a role, but whether these were major or minor factors I have no idea, and neither do you. He has mentioned NIL as a negative for him because he lost a measure of control when NIL and transfer portal gave players career options. He may have seen that mobility of talent wasn't great for his career outlook, but that's irrelevant.
The important point is not how these changes impacted Saban or what Saban decided to do with his life but rather how the money and talent mobility in combination will continue to concentrate at the top for the benefit Alabama and two dozen other programs and disadvantage the other 110 programs.
