I've been reading the scuttlebutt about UCLA being successful in the portal this year, but I'm really not seeing what they are referring to.
If it's bringing in bodies that defines success, ok. From what I can tell a lot of these guys were just on the roster somewhere else but didn't distinguish themselves. And a lot of these bodies seem to be in the secondary.
Where is our QB? The portal won't be a success for us until we get one.
Right now I just see us losing bodies and adding new, similarly talented bodies. We have lost JMS, Loya, and our top returning QB. Seems like it could be enough to stave off the 2-10 disaster many feared, but are we really building anything more than another 5 win season? Doesn't seem so.
In fact, it seems like we are headed for a depressing scenario where Foster does enough to hold on for 3-4 years before getting canned. I want to win in 2025 or have him get canned. Bring the issue to a head rather than wander the wilderness for another long stretch.
