It would appear to me, that an NIL pool could be created for an NFL team. Like, maybe get rich superfans to pool money to keep a player. Do it like a college NIL fund, where it's a charity, and you can write it off.

But, my second conjecture, that an owner could fund it, would be very unlikely to fly.
