NIL is unlikely to change many minds for an ILB. I don’t think there is a lot of $$ sloshing around in NIL coffers for ILBs with only 1 year of eligibility remaining.
Generally speaking people are vastly overestimating how much $$ these kids are actually getting paid. Yeah, a few high profile QBs are making a lot of $, but even the #1 overall prospect only got 10mm over 4 years. I think he “only” had a 1.5mm 1 year agreement with LSU.
One additional think about NIL. The effective NIL schools aren’t hitting up people for low 4 figure commitment from Alum Ann. It’s the uber rich like Phil and Ellisons wife and the Tysons, Boss Oil In Texas etc. A school needs its uber rich to make a commitment, not wasting time on squeezing out a 100 a month from some recent grad.
