Thanks for the link to a great article describing the decline of enthusiasm for UCLA football and its financial woes even though its from 2 years ago. I'd like to see an update on the attendance figures. What was shocking from the article is that we gave away 29,279 free tickets against LSU when announced attendance was 68,123 and when it drew 52,578 fans against Oklahoma in 2019, we gave away 39,202 free tickets. I know from a friend that at LSU, every available ticket is at least 2x of face value and season tickets have a waitlist that is several years long even today so can't blame that the "times have changed and people are less interested" or "technology makes it easier to watch at home" arguments as he said many fans take 2-3 hours to travel to Tiger Stadium without complaints. Mora's team averaged 76,650 in attendance just 10 years ago so the key is what marketing director Scott Mitchell said in the article “There’s been a long time of not meeting the perception of what a U.C.L.A. fan would want — an exciting team, a fun team, a winning team.” so good luck to Deshaun as he has a near impossible task ahead of him. Go Bruins!
