Many similarities to the Minnesota game:

UCLA leads ND 17-13 and gets the ball with a little over two minutes left, needing only a first down to nearly run out the clock. But Coach KARL DORRELL plays not to lose instead of playing to win and runs Chris Markey into the line three straight times even though they hadn't been able to run the ball the entire game (Markey had gained only 31 yards on 16 carries up to that point) and the Notre Dame defense was bunched at the line of scrimmage. The runs gain a total of one yard and UCLA gives the ball back to Notre Dame with a minute left. The Irish go 80 yards in three plays against UCLA's "prevent" defense and wins the game, 20-17.
