College football changes

This is the biggest piece of evidence I’ve seen to date as to what football is going to look like in 5 years. If you need 23mm to compensate the athletes you have to come up with a lot of additional capital for the economics to pencil out.

I think thr 12 is paying out somewhere between 30-40mm to each university and the Acc paid out ~ 45mm on average per team last year.

If you are brining in 50mm and have to pay athletes 23mm, you have somewhere between 7 and 27mm more for nearly everything else (tickets being the primary driver). If your football coach is making 8mm and you hoops coaches 4 and 1. That’s nine-14 million for EVERYTHING ELSE, in a best case scenario. That isn’t gonna make football viable anywhere except at the best schools or schools who financially commit to being successful.

If you have to pay athletes 24mm I don’t see how ADs operate. Texas is the best and they are asking for 11mm/year. Lol
