When I track scores on my phone, I use TheScore app, which has a chat feature. Every once in a while I will go over to that tab to get some detail on what's happening, like a replay review or something. Nothing but degens on there. They are pathetic.
When in school I went to a Gambler's Anonymous meeting to write a paper comparing AA and GA. I introduced myself so they could decide if they wanted to open up with me in the room. Those who did had horrible tales. More like what drug addicts do to get their fix.
I'm a live and let live guy but I'm glad online gambling isn't available in CA. It truly is a scourge on society. We have plenty of gambling available in CA but the instant gratification of online sports gambling is horrifyingly addictive to those who are susceptible to it.
I would not be surprised if an online gambler did something really crazy to a player at some point.
