Level number one is that Football funds all those other sports. The negative financial impact of a dysfunctional football program to all those other sports is real, and significant.
Level number two is, the fact is that we were better at nonrevenue sports in the "last century" than we are now - won lots of national championships each year. The idea that "folks" at UCLA didn't take those sports seriously back then is uninformed at best.
Lots of people on this board remember a time when UCLA was very good at football... and great at all the other sports. We know it doesn't have to be either/or.
