That's the right question. It would be inappropriate for Morgan Center to answer it until this season has finally ground to a merciful halt. December 1, 2024 Morgan Center should stand up and provide leadership into the future.
But, Morgan Center likely stands pat. Their "plan" will be more of the same just as it has been for a quarter century of futility. They have no idea what to do and no incentive to try anything. Their nest is feathered.
They don't seem up to it, but Morgan Center should address the Ucla faithful with a public, specific and detailed plan for restoring the program to its former greatness. This address would acknowledge and apologize for mistakes and then detail how Ucla plans to address its financial difficulties, both in NIL and in budgeting. It should include broad new initiatives backed by the school to raise money to acquire better and more talent.
Jarmond isn't his guy and Ucla generally isn't bold enough to do this---to own the problem and fix it with decisive action. This sort of behavior isn't in their talent stack, so don't hold your breath waiting for this to happen.
But, we all can now clearly see that we need strong and visible leadership. Instead, we get timid government services bureaucracy and mental gobbledygook. If this doesn't change soon, Ucla football as we know it will be history.
Realize that failure in football can get a president (chancellor) fired at the schools now dominating the sport. Even Usc will fire its head person if their team flounders for too long. We haven't won a conference championship in 25 years and no one has been fired. Government services bureaucracies like Morgan Center don't hold anyone or themselves accountable.
