Your anti-Chip syndrome deprived you of driving home a good point. Chip left moderate-to-good talent on the roster at WR, at QB and some talent at RB. He left an iffy OL. But the new staff failed to fill the holes in the OL. The RG they brought from UNLV is a bust, and the new LT seems ok but not great. Our legacy RT DiGiorgio looks mediocre again and Carlin at C and our LG are just guys.

The point you could've made is Chip left an array of good (not exceptional) talent but also left the OL with some holes. I'd agree. But I hold the new staff accountable for the majority of the problem because they didn't fix the problem. You might as well put a traffic cone at RG, for example.

The D lacks a pass rush but otherwise seems to have a decent run stopping ability. The secondary seems ok but gets exposed by the lack of a pass rush. Here, the new staff seems to have added some passable secondary help but nothing to bolster the front 7.

The talent level isn't what we need in part due to departures and part due to the new staff not replenishing it. Had Chip stayed and had he had access to some NIL money, we'd likely see a different OL roster and a better product on the field than this debacle we currently have.
